The best sites for free stock photos

My own personal favorite site for getting a hold of free stock photos is Stock.xchng. It's got a huge database of gorgeous, high-quality pictures to choose from, and they're all in astoundingly high resolution. They have a paid section too, but the massive amount of free pictures available on here is absolutely amazing. It's so vast, in fact, that you are sure to find exactly what you're looking for (or close to it) without any trouble at all. Just sign up and go! It's that simple. Without a doubt, this site is my own primary resource. I've been so consistently impressed, that this is my first stop (and sometimes only stop) everytime I'm in need of a great photo to really set off my blogs, hubs, articles, or other web-based sites.

Want to add that little extra punch to your website, hub, article, or other graphically-wanting text-based creation? How about a photo taken by NASA or the NOAA? That's right, if you're looking for the best source of government-related (and some other) photos, then look no further than this archive, because they have it all, or at least, enough to make an impression on anyone who makes their way through your page. The only marks I have against this page are those for quality-- because many of the images are so old, the resolution can be a little on the small side (think 600 x 800) but they compress well, so if you're working with something smaller than that (like we often do on Hubpages) then the lack of high-resolution pictures immediately becomes a non-sequitur.
